Finnish Research-based Approach to Literature Education since 2017

The Finnish StoRe/TARU-project since 2017

StoRe (= Stories make Readers) is a research-based approach (Aerila & Kauppinen 2019, 2021) which aims at creating communities of readers and reading for pleasure pedagogy in Finland (see also Applegate & Applegate, 2004; Cremin, 2014).

Among others, StoRe investigates the readership of teachers and works in teacher networks (Kauppinen & Aerila 2022; Lähteelä, Kauppinen & Aerila 2020).

The aim is to empower the teachers to make a turn of using literature in wide educational settings and develop their reading pedagogy based on their own reading and teaching experiences.
